Keep your brain healthy with EMS and a personal trainer

We have plenty of reasons to do regular physical exercise. We all know the big benefits, such as reduced risk of cardiovascular problems, weight loss and general wellbeing. Here is one more reason, less considered but very important for creative, busy, talented people: brain health.
Several studies found a connection between cognitive portection and physical exercise. These finidngs come at a critical time, when globally one new case of dementia is detected every four seconds. It is estimated that by 2050, more than 115 million people will have dementia worldwide.

Regular workout for brain health

Regular workout has positive effects on brain function on multiple fronts, both molecular and behavioral level.

Memory and thinking is protected and improved through both direct and indirect means. The direct effects of exercise are reducing insulin resistance and inflammation, stimulating the growth of new blood vessels in the brain, and even the abundance and survival of new brain cells.

Research from UCLA (Molteni et al., 2004) demonstrated that exercise increased growth factors in the brain improving neuronal plasticity – the ability of the brain to grow new neuronal connections – , a critical process in learning.

Indirectly, exercise improves sleep and reduces anxiety, problems that contribute to cognitive impairment.

The same antidepressant-like effects associated with “runner’s high” is associated with a drop in stress hormones. Study has shown that the antidepressant effect of running was also associated with more cell growth in the hippocampus, an area of the brain responsible for long-term memory integration. (Bjørnebekk et al, 2005)

Keep your brain healthy with EMS

The personal trainer will help you to get the most out of the workout and EMS technology.

How much exercise is required to improve cognitive health?

According to a study from University of Georgia (Tomporowski, 2003) even briefly exercising for 20 minutes facilitates information processing and memory functions.

Standard recommendations advise half an hour of moderate physical activity most days of the week, or 150 minutes a week.

Don’t have the discipline to do it on your own?

Personal training sessions with EMS can help

Twenty minutes 2 times per week, will have the same effect as a daily 1-hour traning in a traditional gym. The personal trainer will help you to get the most out of the workout and EMS technology. They will also keep you motivated and accountable.

If you are busy having a stressful job with high responsabilities or where continuous creativity and problem-solving is required, it is normal that you won’t have the time and energy for regular exercise. However, think about how important is to keep your brain healthy. And training with electrical muscle stimulation will drastically reduce the necessary time of an effective workout.
